Position Available: Shop Manager

Job Specific Accountabilities

Operational Management:

    1. Oversee the production, assembly, testing, and repair of wellhead and flowback equipment (e.g., 1502 iron, sand management equipment, casing heads, tubing heads, valves, and connectors).
    2. Ensure all equipment meets industry standards and client specifications.
    3. Manage inventory levels of materials, tools, and spare parts to ensure smooth operations.
    4. Schedule and prioritize shop activities to meet deadlines and client demands.

Team Leadership:

  1. Supervise, train, and mentor shop technicians and staff.
  2. Assign tasks and monitor performance to ensure productivity and quality.
  3. Foster a safe and positive work environment.
  4. Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  1. Ensure all work complies with industry standards (e.g., API, ISO) and safety regulations.
  2. Implement and maintain quality control processes to minimize errors and rework.
  3. Conduct regular inspections of equipment and shop facilities.
  4. Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and testing.

Client and Vendor Relations:

  1. Communicate with Sales Representatives to understand their clients’ requirements and provide updates on project progress.
  2. Coordinate with inventory to procure materials and equipment.
  3. Resolve any issues or complaints related to shop operations or deliverables.

Safety and Environmental Compliance:

  1. Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies.
  2. Conduct safety meetings and training sessions for staff.
  3. Investigate and report any accidents or incidents in the shop.
  4. Ensure proper disposal of waste materials and adherence to environmental regulations.

Financial and Administrative Duties:

  1. Monitor shop budgets and control costs to maximize profitability.
  2. Prepare reports on shop performance, including productivity, costs, and quality metrics.
  3. Maintain accurate records of equipment, inventory, and personnel.
  4. Assist in the development of operational strategies and improvement initiatives.

Recommended Education & Experience

  • Oil and Gas Experience – preferable with completions, shop work, and wellhead experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in wellhead equipment maintenance, repair, or manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of oil and gas industry standards and practices.

Preferred Software Experience

  • Office 365 – MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams
