Sand Management

The Leading Standard in Sand Management

The SandPro filter line is a high-efficiency positive barrier system. Patented baffle plates create upward hydro-turbulence and a harmonic vibration that separates solids from the fluid as fluid and gas exit the unit, while heavier solids are removed in the bottom chamber by centrifugal fluid movement.

That design keeps solids from collecting on the filter, and filters are custom sized for every phase of flowback and production in 100, 200, or 300 mesh to stop the finest solids.

Good sand management protects people as well as equipment. OSHA lists silica and hydrocarbon gases and vapors among the health hazards in oil and gas extraction, so automated blowdown that cuts hands-on sand handling is a real safety gain. Pair our filters with mSeries automation, then run the flowback calculator to see what automation could save.

A Different Type of Flowback

Our approach uses the operator's facilities to separate fluids and gases rather than traditional flowback packages.

  • Drastically reduced rental costs
  • No heavy solids moving through the flowline and the environmental risk that comes with them
  • No cost of repairing washed flowlines
  • No costly cleanouts and lost production

FAQ

Sand Management FAQs

24-Hour Dispatch

Still have a question? Our dispatch line is always staffed.

How does positive barrier sand filtration work?

Patented baffle plates create upward hydro-turbulence and a harmonic vibration that separates solids from the fluid, while heavier solids are removed in the bottom chamber by centrifugal fluid movement. That design keeps solids from collecting on the filter.

What filter mesh sizes are available?

Filters are custom sized for every phase of flowback and production in 100, 200, or 300 mesh to stop the finest solids.

What sand management products does SandPro offer?

The lineup includes mFILTER self-cleaning sand filtration units, the 5K Pro Cyclonic Desander for initial production flowback, CTB units for bulk and test central tank battery filtration, and mSeries flowback automation.

Can sand management be automated?

Yes. Pair SandPro filters with mSeries automation to run blowdown and sand tracking on its own and cut hands-on sand handling. Run the flowback calculator to see what automation could save.
