Frac Watch Operator

Location: On-site at hydraulic fracturing (fracing) operations in oil and gas fields.

Job Description:

As a Frac Watch Operator, your primary responsibility is to monitor and oversee hydraulic fracturing operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with company protocols and regulatory standards. You will work closely with the fracing team and other personnel on-site to facilitate smooth operation of fracturing activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring Fracturing Operations: Continuously monitor fraccing equipment, pressure levels, flow rates, and other parameters during hydraulic fracturing operations.
  • Safety Oversight: Maintain a vigilant watch for any signs of equipment malfunctions, leaks, or other safety hazards. Promptly report any issues to the appropriate personnel and take necessary corrective actions as directed.
  • Data Recording and Reporting: Document operational data, including pressure readings, fluid volumes, and equipment statuses. Generate accurate reports detailing the progress and performance of fracturing operations.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with the fracking team, supervisors, and other personnel involved in the operation. Relay important information and updates in a timely manner.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Assist with routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs on fracking equipment as needed. Keep work areas clean and organized to ensure efficient operation.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Ensure that all fracturing activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and environmental standards. Stay informed about relevant regulations and procedures to ensure adherence at all times.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in oilfield operations, particularly in hydraulic fracturing, is highly desirable.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols at all times.

Working Conditions:

  • Frac Watch Operators typically work long hours on-site locations.
  • The role may require physical labor, including standing, walking, and lifting heavy equipment.
  • Depending on the specific operation, the job may involve exposure to noise, chemicals, and other occupational hazards.
